Supporting Our Community: Pohanka Partners with Virginia State Police Teddy Trooper Program

At Pohanka Automotive Group, giving back to the communities we serve is at the heart of who we are. This month, we are proud to share our new partnership with the Virginia State Police Association’s Teddy Trooper Program, a heartfelt initiative designed to bring comfort to children in moments of crisis.

The Teddy Trooper Program provides stuffed bears, affectionately known as Trooper Teddys, to Virginia State Troopers. These bears are carried in patrol vehicles and given to children during emergencies, offering reassurance and compassion during stressful or traumatic situations. Sometimes, a small gesture like a teddy bear can help calm fear and remind a child that they are not alone.

Representatives from the Virginia State Police Association, including Executive Director Bill Carrico and Supervisor Kathy Smith of the Sully District, joined us recently to highlight the program and deliver Trooper Teddys. Our team was honored to learn more about the positive impact these bears have had across the state.

By supporting this program, Pohanka is not only helping to provide Trooper Teddys but also reinforcing our long-standing commitment to community partnerships that make a difference. We are grateful to the VSPA team for their dedication and for allowing us to contribute to such a meaningful cause.

At Pohanka, we believe true impact comes from lifting others up, and sometimes, that starts with something as simple as a teddy bear.
